一个记号─腿瘸了
雅各在毗努伊勒，被神摸着了他的大腿窝，他的大腿就瘸了。许多基督徒有这一个属灵的经历，不过当时并不知道，也许是过了几个月或者一年两年之后，神才给他看见，神那一次所对付的乃是他天然的生命。到那一个时候，他才知道他有了那一个经历。所以，你千万不要以为你在某一天祷告的时候心里快乐得很，就是你已经被神对付了天然生命。这样的想法是不对的。在经历上，你不知道神什么时候摸着你天然的生命；但是有一个你知道，就是自从你被主摸过之后，你所有的举动不方便了，你没有像从前那样便利了；在你身上有一个很大的记号，就是你的大腿瘸了。腿瘸了，这就是你天然的生命被神摸着的记号。不是有一次你在聚会中作见证，说神在某年某月对付了你天然的生命；乃是你在某一次属灵的经历中，你的腿瘸了。本来你在那里打算的时候，是越打算越有味道；可是现在只要你试着要去打算，里面就好像泄了气似的，要打算也打算不来了，一打算里面就觉得不平安了。你本来会这样说、那样说，你有高言大智；可是现在你还没有说出口，你心里就觉得厌烦起来了，你不能再像从前那样滔滔不绝了。
经过神对付的人，能分别什么叫作天然的能力，什么叫作属灵的能力。当你天然的能力受对付之后，你为主作工的时候就怕用你天然的能力。你明知道一句话怎样讲就会有怎样的结果，但是你怕得着那样能预料的结果。你如果再要凭着你天然的能力那样作，你里面会冷下去，你里面会不要作。这样的情形就是腿瘸了。
被神摸着，也有程度上的差别。有的人不过被神稍微摸着一点，不过良心觉得不平安；有的人是被神有了根本的摸着，被神摸着了大腿窝的筋，这样的人才真的瘸腿了。我们需要神作一次基本的工作在我们身上，作到一个地步，叫我们一生一世有一个记号，就是腿瘸了。腿瘸了以后，那么每一次我们要动的时候，每一次我们要作的时候，就有一件东西在那里使我们觉得痛，使我们觉得不方便。这就是被神摸着的记号。
信息重点：当人的天然生命被神摸着以后，人便不再敢倚靠自己，而是学习单单倚靠神。
应用祷告：主耶稣，谢谢你在我身上的工作。求你教导我不再相信自己的聪明和能力，而是天天学习单单倚靠你。阿们。

The Breaking of Jacob’s Natural Life (5) — Gen. 32:30
A Sign — A Limping Leg
At Penuel, Jacob’s thigh was touched by God, and his leg became lame. Many Christians have this spiritual experience, but they do not know it at the time — perhaps only after several months, or a year or two, God allows them see that what He dealt with then was their natural life. Only then do they realize they have had that experience. So you can never consider that because you felt very happy in your heart while praying on a certain day, this means God has already dealt with your natural life. Such thinking is wrong. Experientially, you do not know when God touches your natural life; but there is one thing you do know: ever since you were touched by the Lord, all your movements became inconvenient, you were no longer as free as before — there is a great sign on you, and that is that your leg has become lame. Being lame is the sign that your natural life has been touched by God. It is not that you once testified in a meeting that God dealt with your natural life on a certain date; rather, it is that in some spiritual experience your leg became lame. Formerly, when you made your plans, the more you planned the more relish you found in it; but now, the moment you try to make plans, something inside seems to deflate, and you cannot manage to plan anymore — the moment you try, you feel uneasy inside. Formerly you could speak this way and that way, full of lofty words and great wisdom; but now, before the words even come out of your mouth, you feel weary inside, and you can no longer go on and on as fluently as before.
Those who have passed through God’s dealing can distinguish between what is natural ability and what is spiritual ability. After your natural ability has been dealt with, you become afraid to use your natural ability when you work for the Lord. You clearly know that speaking a certain word in a certain way will produce a certain result, but you are afraid to obtain such a predictable result. If you were to act again by your natural ability, something within you would grow cold, and you would not want to act. This condition is what it means to be lame.
Being touched by God also has degrees. Some people are only slightly touched by God, so that only their conscience feels uneasy; others are touched by God at the root, the sinew of their thigh is touched, and only such people are truly made lame. We need God to do a fundamental work in us, a work that reaches the point of leaving a lifelong sign on us — a lame leg. After we become lame, then every time we want to move, every time we want to act, there is something causing us pain, causing us inconvenience. This is the sign of being touched by God.
Message Main Points: After the natural life is touched by God, a person no longer dares to rely on himself.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for Your work in me. Teach me no longer to trust in my own cleverness and ability, but to learn day by day to rely on You alone. Amen.
