林前三章一节：“弟兄们，我从前对你们说话，不能把你们当作属灵的，只得把你们当作属肉体，在基督里为婴孩的。”在这里又有一个辞：“属肉体。”哥林多的信徒在基督里是婴孩，他们是属肉体的人。所以二节就说：“我是用奶餧你们，没有用饭餧你们。”属灵的事，他们不是不能摸，但是只有最浅显的启示摸得着，比较深的就摸不着。因为他们是属肉体的人，所以他们只能吃奶，不能吃饭。奶只是起头的时候吃的，那是指基督教最浅显的启示；饭是一生吃的，那是指高深的启示。人不是一直吃奶的，一生之中，只有几十分之一的时间吃奶。但是有一班人一直吃奶。
林前二、三两章给我们看见有三种人：
第一，属血气的人。这种人只有属魂的一切，或可称为属心理的人。属血气的人没有重生，没有重生的灵，缺少明白神的话的机构，这一种人不能明白圣经。
第二，属肉体的人。这一种人有神的生命，有神的灵在他们里面，可是他们不顺着灵而行，反而顺着肉体而行。得着灵而没有用灵，得着灵而没有服在灵的权柄之下，得着灵而没有受灵的支配，得着灵而没有让灵管辖一切；这样的人，圣经称之为属肉体的人。这样的人所明白的圣经也十分有限。他们只能吃奶，不能吃饭。奶是经过母亲消化过的，所以不是指直接的启示，乃是指间接的启示。这样的人，在神面前不能直接得着启示，是别的属灵的人得着了启示，再把启示转到他身上。
第三，属灵的人。这种人得着了神的灵，并且活在灵的力量之下，顺着灵的原则而行。他们所得的启示，是没有限量的。神的话是说，惟有属灵的人才能看透属灵的事。我们读圣经，必须记得这个基本的条件：要属灵，要顺着灵而行。

Three Types of Men – 1 Cor. 3:1
1 Corinthians 3:1: “And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men but as to men of flesh, as to infants in Christ.” Here there is another term: “flesh” The Corinthian believers were babes in Christ; they were men of flesh. Therefore verse 2 says: “I gave you milk to drink, not solid food.” It is not that they could not touch spiritual things at all, but they could only grasp the most superficial revelations, but not the deeper ones. Because they were fleshy people, they can only drink milk, not solid food. Milk is only for drinking at the beginning, referring to the most basic revelations of Christianity; solid food is for lifetime, referring to deeper revelations. A man does not drink milk only constantly; in one’s entire life, only a fraction of the time is spent drinking milk. However, there is a group of men who drink milk continuously.
1 Corinthians chapters 2 and 3 show us three types of men:
First, the natural man. This type of man possess only soulish qualities and can be called the psychological person. The natural man has not been regenerated, lacks a regenerated spirit, lacks the faculty to understand God’s word; this type of man cannot understand the Bible.
Second, the men of flesh. This type of men has life of God, the Spirit of God within them, but they do not walk according to the spirit; rather, according to the flesh. They possess the Spirit but do not use it; nor submit to its authority they have obtained the spirit but are not governed by the spirit; possess the Spirit but do not accept its control, nor allow it to govern everything. the Bible calls such man fleshy. Their understanding of the Bible is also very limited. They can only drink milk and cannot eat solid food. Milk has been digested by the mother, so it does not refer to direct revelation, but indirect revelation. Such men cannot receive revelation directly before God; instead, other spiritual men who receive revelation and then transfer it to them.
Third, the spiritual man. This type of man has received God’s Spirit and lives under the power of the Spirit, walking according to the principles of the Spirit. The revelation they receive is limitless. God’s word states that only spiritual man can appraise spiritual things. When we read the Bible, we need to remember this basic condition: we must be spiritual and walk according to the Spirit.
