Testament \u2013 Gen 12:2<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 20px;\">Genesis consists of fifty chapters; the last thirty-nine chapters are a summary of the entire New Testament. Do you know how the New Testament begins? The New Testament begins with: \u201cThe record of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham\u201d (Matt. 1:1). According to the genealogy in Matthew, the gospel begins with Abraham. The New Testament begins with the genealogy of Abraham. This corresponds with Genesis 12. Almost every matter in the New Testament was sown as a seed in Genesis. Therefore, the thirty-nine and half  chapters that constitute the third section of Genesis are a summary of the entire New Testament.\n\n<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 20px;\">The New Testament begins with the preaching of the gospel of the kingdom. When Jehovah came to call Abraham, He gave him a promise, and that promise was the preaching of the gospel. Galatians 3:8 confirms this: \u201cThe Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, \u2018All the nations will be blessed. in you\u2019\u201d The first preaching of the gospel was not in the Gospel of Matthew, but in Genesis 12. A primary item of the gospel preached to Abraham was the kingdom. God promised to make Abraham a great nation; that great nation is the kingdom of God, which includes Israel as the kingdom of God in the Old Testament, the church as the kingdom of God in the New Testament, the coming millennial kingdom, and the new heaven and new earth. This is the kingdom, and this is the gospel of the kingdom.\n\n<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 20px;\">Galatians 3:14 speaks of the blessing of Abraham: \u201cThat the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.\u201d What is the blessing? The blessing is the Spirit. Who is the Spirit? The Spirit is Jesus (2 Cor. 3:17). The Spirit is Jesus, Jesus is Jehovah and Jehovah is God. Therefore, this blessing is God Himself. In the gospel that God preached to Abraham, He promised to give Himself to those who are called as their blessing. This blessing is Jehovah Himself. Jehovah is Jesus, Jesus is the Spirit, and the Spirit is the One we receive through believing in Christ. This is the gospel. Remember, Genesis is the summary of the entire New Testament.\n\n<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 20px;\">In this long section of Genesis, it only speaks of three people &#8212; the lives of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. When God appeared to Moses, He said, \u201cI am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.\u201d (Exo. 3:6) As we will see later, this sentence very clearly speaks of the Triune God. The New Testament is actually the autobiography of the Triune God; this Triune God is the Father seen in Abraham, the Son seen in Isaac, and the Spirit seen in Jacob. Perhaps someone might ask, what about Joseph? We will see later that Joseph is not separate; he is a part of Jacob. The entire story of the called ones in Genesis is the story of these three people, and the entire New Testament is a record of the divine Trinity &#8212; the Father, the Son and the Spirit &#8212; experienced by all New Testament believers.\n\n<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 20px;\">Daily Question: Why is it said that Genesis is a summary of the entire New Testament?
