font-size: 20px; font-family: 'times new roman', times;\">Why do we gather together? It is to eat the Lord, drink the Lord, enjoy the Lord, and supply one another so that living water may flow. Hymn 382, stanza 4 says, \u201cReceive the word, touch the Spirit &#8212; then you become my supply.\u201d When we receive the Word, we touch the Spirit in the Word, and within us we receive supply. Not only in meetings, but also in our daily life, we should eat the Lord, drink the Lord, and enjoy the Lord so that He may become our supply. This is the real experience of the Triune God as life. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 20px; font-family: 'times new roman', times;\">Our Lord is both eatable and drinkable. We eat the Lord through His Word, and we drink the Lord by calling on His name. Isaiah 12:3-4 says, \u201cTherefore you will joyously draw water from the springs of salvation. \u2026 Give thanks to Jehovah; call upon His name.\u201d Here, calling on the Lord\u2019s name is linked with drinking from the springs of salvation. To draw water from the springs of salvation is to drink, and the way to drink is to call on the Lord\u2019s name. This shows us that whenever we call on His name, we drink of the Lord. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 20px; font-family: 'times new roman', times;\">This drinking also includes eating. For example, when little children drink milk, they are also eating. Milk is not only a drink but also food. We all have the same experience: calling on the Lord\u2019s name alone is not enough &#8212; it must be accompanied with the Word of the Lord. Sometimes when we call, \u201cO Lord Jesus! O Lord Jesus!\u201d we are so joyful that we spontaneously speak His Word, or praise, or worship or give thanks, such as, \u201cYou are the bread of life; he who eats You shall live because of You!\u201d In this way, we both call on His name and enjoy His Word. Calling is drinking, enjoying the Word is eating. Thus, calling and pray-reading together are both eating and drinking. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 20px; font-family: 'times new roman', times;\">Thank the Lord that He is Spirit, that this Spirit has also become the Word, and that He has given us His name. Now we have the Bible, the Holy Spirit and His name. What is needed is simply that we spend a little time to practically exercise and enjoy Him.
