font-family: 'times new roman', times;\"><b>Man Has Become a \u201cSerpent\u201d <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 20px; font-family: 'times new roman', times;\">Since Satan has injected himself into man, all people have become serpents in God\u2019s eyes. Although you may think you are human, in God\u2019s eyes, you are a serpent. According to Matthew 3:7, John the Baptist called the religious Jews a \u201cbrood of vipers.\u201d They were serpents. It is as if John were saying, \u201cYou think you are religious people, that you are devout, but you don\u2019t realize you are a brood of vipers\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 20px; font-family: 'times new roman', times;\">When the Lord Jesus explained the parable of the sower, He used the term \u201csons of the evil one\u201d (Matt. 13:38). Who is the evil one? The serpent &#8212; Satan. He is the evil one, and all who follow him are his sons. The followers of Satan are not adopted sons; they are his real offspring. That\u2019s why Jesus said in John 8:44, \u201cYou are of your father the devil.\u201d The Lord seemed to be saying, \u201cYour father is the devil because you have the life of the devil; the devil\u2019s life and nature are in you\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 20px; font-family: 'times new roman', times;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: 'times new roman', times;\"><b>Man Has the Nature and Life of the Serpent <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 20px; font-family: 'times new roman', times;\">Since we are children of the devil and born of the serpent, we all have the serpent\u2019s nature and life (1 John 3:12). No one can deny or refute this fact, because we can see the nature and life of Satan in our own children. On the surface, little children seem to be sweet and adorable. But as they grow up, the serpent\u2019s nature within them becomes increasingly evident. They were never trained to behave this way, yet the serpent\u2019s nature and life manifest spontaneously. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 20px; font-family: 'times new roman', times;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: 'times new roman', times;\"><b>The Evil Spirit Operates Within Fallen Man <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 20px; font-family: 'times new roman', times;\">Satan &#8212; the serpent &#8212; is the ruler of the spirit that is now operating in the sons of disobedience; he is an evil spirit (Eph. 2:2). This evil spirit is not dormant or inactive. He is actively at work in fallen human beings. Some Christians may think, \u201cNow that we are saved and in the Body of Christ, Satan has nothing to do with us anymore\u201d. This thought is not from the Holy Spirit; it is the voice of the cunning serpent. The spreading of this idea is the serpent\u2019s lie. We must all stay alert, because even now, the crafty one is still with us.
