font-family: 'times new roman', times;\"><b>What Did God Do in Order to Produce a Counterpart for Himself? <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: 'times new roman', times;\"><b>1. Becoming a Man \u2013 Creating Adam <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 20px; font-family: 'times new roman', times;\">One day, God became a man (John 1:14). This man was born of a virgin and was named Jesus. God becoming man was prefigured by the creation of man. Before Jesus was born in the manger in Bethlehem, God was only God. But through incarnation, God became a man. This man is the real Adam. The Adam in Genesis chapter 2 was merely a picture (Rom. 5:14), and with Christ\u2019s birth in the flesh, the real Adam came. The Adam in the garden was called the first Adam, while the Lord Jesus, the real Adam, is called the last Adam (1 Cor. 15:45). The last Adam is the true Adam.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 20px; font-family: 'times new roman', times;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: 'times new roman', times;\"><b>2. Passing Through Death \u2013 Adam Slept <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 20px; font-family: 'times new roman', times;\">One day, the real Adam was placed on the cross, and He \u201cslept\u201d there for six hours &#8212; from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Mark 15:25, 33). This corresponds to what is spoken in Genesis: \u201cJehovah God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man\u2026 and He took one of his ribs\u201d (Gen. 2:21), which was used to build a wife for him. Adam\u2019s deep sleep was a type of Christ\u2019s death on the cross for the producing of the church. This is the death that releases life, imparts life, reproduces life, increases life and multiplies life &#8212; signified by a grain of wheat falling into the ground and dying, and then bearing many grains (John 12:24), which are made into one bread &#8212; the Body, which is the church (1 Cor. 10:17). Through this process of producing the church, God in Christ has worked Himself into man as life. First, God became a man. Then this man, who possessed both the divine life and nature, passed through death and resurrection and was multiplied into many believers, who became the many members, forming the real Eve, matching Him and becoming His counterpart.
