new roman', times;\"><b>5. Do Not Be Proud <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 20px; font-family: 'times new roman', times;\">While faith is essential in evangelism, it must not lead to pride. When a believer gains confidence in sharing the gospel, their attitude might inadvertently come across as arrogant. However, when the evangelist exhibits pride, it becomes harder for the listener to believe. Excessive self-confidence in the messenger may turn people away from the message. We should possess unwavering faith while maintaining a humble attitude. Avoid criticizing, condemning, or looking down on others. Remember, before we believed in Christ, our condition might have been even worse than those we now reach out to. Since we know the Holy Spirit and the gospel have immense power, and since we are not sharing our own words but God\u2019s, we must approach people with humility. While our faith should keep us persistent and unyielding internally, our external demeanor must reflect gentleness and humility. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 20px; font-family: 'times new roman', times;\">There are common pitfalls in evangelism: (1) Becoming overly enthusiastic when someone receives the gospel; (2) Feeling deeply discouraged when someone rejects it; (3) Using condescending or condemning language towards those who resist. Some, in their zeal, may portray God as a harsh figure, emphasizing His power to subdue or punish opponents. However, while God is indeed powerful, His approach is often tender and gracious. We should share the gospel with faith yet maintain a demeanor of humility, avoiding harshness or arrogance. True faith comes from total consecration, earnest prayer, and balanced faith. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 20px; font-family: 'times new roman', times;\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px; font-family: 'times new roman', times;\"><b>6. A Spontaneous Eloquence<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 20px; font-family: 'times new roman', times;\">Every believer participating in evangelism should seek from the Lord a measure of spontaneous eloquence. Whether giving messages, inviting others to meetings, greeting attendees, engaging in post-service conversations, registering new comers\u2019 names, or leading prayers for people, all should pray for God-given words. Avoid relying on clich\u00e9d phrases or rote presentations. For instance, many repeat the same old formula: \u201cThere is one God who created everything, but mankind sinned because of Adam. To save us, God sent His Son, who died on the cross, rose again and ascended to heaven. If you repent, you will have eternal life, joy and peace. Believing in Jesus is the greatest blessing.\u201d While this summary is true, it often lacks freshness. Repeating the same presentation can come across as mechanical. Instead, we must present Jesus as our central theme but allow for fresh expressions inspired by the Spirit. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 20px; font-family: 'times new roman', times;\">In preaching the gospel, we need the eloquence of the Holy Spirit rather than relying on our own knowledge of doctrine. On the one hand, we need to prepare how to talk to others about the gospel, because it is the sharp sword of the gospel that can conquer people; on the other hand, we must pay attention to the use of the sword, because if we use it improperly, we may hurt ourselves. Regarding the words of the gospel, our usage must not be rigid, but must be inspired by the Holy Spirit. If we don\u2019t have feelings within, just \u201creciting\u201d the words of the Bible to others will not be effective.
