text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 24px;\">The Return and Release of Israel \u2013 Rom. 9:27, Isa. 10:20-22 <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 20px;\">Isaiah 10:20-27 speaks of the return and release of Israel. After the judgment on Israel and the judgment on Assyria, there would be the return and release of Israel. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 20px;\">Then in that day the remnant of Israel and those of the house of Israel who have escaped will no longer rely upon him who strikes them \u2013 the king of Assyria \u2013 but they will rely upon Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel, in truth (Isa. 10:20). To rely upon Jehovah in truth is to rely upon him in honesty. Verses 21 and 22a go on to say, \u201cA remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God. For though your people, O Israel, are like the sand of the sea, only a remnant among them will return.\u201d This word is quoted by Paul in Romans 9:27. The reason that only a remnant will return is given in Isaiah 10:22b-23. \u201cAnnihilation is strictly decided, overflowing with righteousness. For utter destruction and a strict decision is Jehovah of hosts performing in the midst of the whole land.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 20px;\">Two Categories of Abraham\u2019s Descendants<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-family: 'times new roman', times; font-size: 20px;\">The stars of the heavens signify Abraham\u2019s heavenly descendants, the descendants who are of faith, whereas the sand on the seashore and the dust of the earth signify Abraham\u2019s earthly descendants, the descendants in the flesh. The sand on the seashore is the dust beside the sea. This sand is separated from the sea and also washed by the waves of the sea. The sea signifies the gentile nations. The gentile nations used by God to chastise Israel throughout the centuries were like the waves from the Mediterranean, coming up again and again with their invading armies to wash Israel as the dust to produce a remnant who are like the sand on the seashore. The New Jerusalem is composed of these two categories of Abraham\u2019s descendants. Hence, the New Jerusalem will be the ultimate consummation of Abraham\u2019s seed. By being offered to God by Abraham, Isaac was multiplied to become the New Jerusalem.
