二、是照着不能毁坏之生命的大能（来7:16）
基督成为大祭司，不是照着律法无能的字句，乃是照着不能毁坏之生命大能的元素，这生命是一切都不能毁坏，都不能消除的。这是无穷的生命，是永远、神圣、非受造的生命，也是经过死亡和阴间之试验的复活生命（徒二24，启一18）。今天基督就是藉着这样的生命供职作我们的大祭司。因此，祂能拯救我们到底。
希伯来书是以天上的基督为中心，而关于这位基督，主要的点是说祂作祭司，不是照着亚伦的等次，乃是照着麦基洗德的等次。前面几章说到基督的其他方面，就如祂是神子、人子、救恩的创始者、使徒、真约书亚，这些都是必要的资格，使祂成为这样一位祭司，能供应我们一切的需要，并且拯救我们到底。

II. According to the Power of an Indestructible Life (Heb. 7:16)
Christ became the great High Priest not according to the powerless letter of the law, but according to the element of the power of an indestructible life — a life that nothing can destroy and nothing can eliminate. This is an endless life, an eternal, divine, uncreated life and also a resurrection life that has been tested by death and Hades (Acts 2:24; Rev. 1:18). Today Christ ministers as our great High Priest by means of such a life. Therefore, He is able to save us to the uttermost.
Hebrews centers on the heavenly Christ, and the main point concerning this Christ is that He serves as priest not according to the order of Aaron, but according to the order of Melchizedek. The earlier chapters speak of other aspects of Christ — such as His being the Son of God, the Son of Man, the Author of salvation, the Apostle and the true Joshua — and all of these are necessary qualifications that make Him such a priest, one who can supply all our needs and save us to the uttermost.
