现在我们看教会的回应。我们看过，利百加立刻答应，愿意与仆人一同到以撒那里。虽然在我们老旧、堕落的天性里面，不愿意立刻跟从主，但我们不能否认，在我们里面还是愿意跟从祂。虽然我们还在这老旧的天性里，但我们还是容易跟从主。不要相信仇敌的谎言，说你在跟从主的事上很容易受到阻挠。要对仇敌说，“没有甚么能阻挠我跟从主的愿望。我里面深处渴慕跟从祂。”撒但是说谎者，有时他甚至藉着说消极事情的传道人欺骗我们，告诉我们说，我们不能爱主耶稣。不要相信这些谎言，只要宣告说，“不！我能爱主耶稣！我真爱主耶稣！”我们甚至会欺骗自己说，“我好软弱，我简直无法跟从主，我最好还是转身回头。”我们必须拒绝这谎言，并且说，“我绝不回头，我要跟从主耶稣。”不要相信你不爱主的谎言。要对仇敌说，“我爱主耶稣。我爱祂不在于我能爱，乃在于祂是这样可爱。因为祂可爱，我不能不爱祂。”
作那灵所盼望的事
我们对圣灵的回应，乃是一直作祂所盼望的事。亚伯拉罕的仆人盼望利百加给他水喝，并且为他的十只骆驼打水，利百加恰恰照他盼望的去作（创二四18-20），满足了他的干渴。我们常常不知不觉作了圣灵所盼望的事，满足了祂的愿望，作的时候还不知道祂所盼望的是甚么。我们这样作，表明我们是在圣灵的运行之下。
接受礼物
利百加作了仆人所盼望的事以后，就接受了礼物。首先，仆人将一个金环戴在她的鼻子上。今天妇女喜欢把环子戴在耳朵上，但这里金环是戴在利百加的鼻子上。鼻子的功用是闻味。将金环戴在利百加的鼻子上，意思是叫她的嗅觉功能被神圣的性情所抓住。一旦我们的鼻子上戴着这环子，我们就有神圣的香气和口味，就如希伯来书所说，我们尝过属天的恩赐，神善美的话，以及来世的能力（来六4-5）。在我得救以前，我有特殊的口味；然而，我接受主以后，我的口味改了，我已经接受了神圣的口味。我们这些得救的人，有神圣的嗅觉功能和神圣的口味。因我们有这样的鼻子，我们不需要别人告诉我们，甚么可作，甚么不可作。我们嗅觉和味觉器官的功能告诉我们，甚么合乎神口味，甚么不合乎神的口味。

The Church’s Response (1) – Gen. 24:58
Now we look at the church’s response. We have seen that Rebekah answered immediately, willing to go with the servant to Isaac. Although in our old, fallen nature we are unwilling to follow the Lord immediately, we cannot deny that deep within us we are still willing to follow Him. Although we are still in this old nature, it is easy for us to follow the Lord. Do not believe the enemy’s lie that you are easily hindered in following the Lord. You must say to the enemy, “Nothing can hinder my desire to follow the Lord. Deep within me, I long to follow Him.” Satan is a liar; sometimes he even deceives us through preachers who speak of negative things, telling us that we cannot love the Lord Jesus. Do not believe these lies; just declare, “No! I can love the Lord Jesus! I truly love the Lord Jesus!” We may even deceive ourselves, saying, “I am so weak, I simply cannot follow the Lord; it is better for me to turn back.” We must reject this lie and say, “I will never turn back; I will follow the Lord Jesus”. Do not believe the lie that you do not love the Lord. Say to the enemy, “I love the Lord Jesus. I love Him not because I can love, but because He is so lovely. Because He is lovely, I cannot help but love Him.”
Doing What the Spirit Longs For
Our response to the Holy Spirit is always to do what He longs for. Abraham’s servant longed for Rebekah to give him a drink of water and to draw water for his ten camels, and Rebekah did exactly what he longed for (Gen. 24:18-20), satisfying his thirst. We often do what the Holy Spirit longs for unknowingly, satisfying His desire, without even knowing what He longs for at the time. When we do this, it shows that we are under the moving of the Holy Spirit.
Receiving Gifts
After Rebekah did what the servant longed for, she received gifts. First, the servant put a gold ring on her nose. Today, women like to wear rings in their ears, but here the gold ring was put on Rebekah’s nose. The function of the nose is to smell. Putting a gold ring on Rebekah’s nose means that her faculty of smell was caught by the divine nature. Once we have this ring on our nose, we have the divine fragrance and taste, just as Hebrews says, that we have tasted the heavenly gift, the good word of God, and the powers of the age to come (Heb. 6:4-5). Before I was saved, I had specific tastes; however, after I received the Lord, my taste changed; I have received the divine taste. We who are saved have the divine faculty of smell and the divine taste. Because we have such a nose, we do not need others to tell us what to do and what not to do. The function of our organs of smell and taste tells us what is according to God’s taste and what is not according to God’s taste.
