挪亚进入方舟时，是六百岁。到挪亚六百零一岁，正月初一日时，地上的水都干了。挪亚撤去方舟的盖观看，便见地面上干了。到二月二十七日，地就都干了。神对挪亚说，“你和你的妻子、儿子、儿妇，都可以出方舟。在你那里凡有血肉的活物，就是飞鸟、牲畜、和一切爬在地上的昆虫，都要带出来，叫他在地上多多滋生，大大兴旺。”于是挪亚和他的妻子、儿子、儿妇，都出来了。一切走兽、昆虫、飞鸟、和地上所有的动物，各从其类，也都出了方舟（创八13-19）。
挪亚和他的家人在方舟里经过了洪水。我们看见，经过洪水是新约里受浸的预表。洪水之后，方舟停在亚拉腊山上，那也是基督复活的表征。按照圣经，方舟是基督的预表。方舟经过洪水，表征基督经过神审判下的死水。方舟停在山顶上，表征基督从死里复活。
洪水来到，埋葬了挪亚的旧社会，只有八个人复活了。在洪水之后，借方舟得救的八个人开始过新的生活。在洪水之前，他们见过许多邪恶和不敬虔的事。但他们得救了，分别了，复活了，并被引进新的生活。这新生活乃是教会生活的预表。同样的，当基督从死水中复活时，我们就在祂里面，与祂一同复活了。所以在教会中，我们是复活的人。

Living in Resurrection – 1 Pet. 3:20-21
When Noah entered the ark, he was six hundred years old. By the time Noah was six hundred and one years old, on the first day of the first month, the waters on the earth had dried up. Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and he saw that the surface of the ground was dry. By the twenty-seventh day of the second month, the earth was completely dry. God said to Noah, “You and your wife, your sons, and your sons’ wives may come out of the ark. Bring out with you every living thing of all flesh that is with you, birds, and animals and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth that they may breed abundantly on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.” So Noah and his wife, his sons, and his sons’ wives came out. Every beast, creeping thing and bird, everything that moves on the earth, went out by their families from the ark (Gen. 8:13–19).
Noah and his family passed through the flood in the ark. We see that passing through the flood is a type of baptism in the New Testament. After the flood, the ark rested on Mount Ararat, which also signifies the resurrection of Christ. According to the Scriptures, the ark is a type of Christ. The ark passing through the flood signifies Christ passing through the waters of death under God’s judgment. The ark resting upon the mountain signifies Christ resurrecting from the dead.
When the flood came, it buried Noah’s old society, and only eight people were resurrected. After the flood, the eight who were saved through the ark began to live a new life. Before the flood, they had seen many evil and ungodly things. But they were saved, separated, resurrected, and brought into a new living. This new living is a type of the church life. Likewise, when Christ resurrected from the waters of death, we were in Him and resurrected with Him. Therefore, in the church, we are people in resurrection.
