神告诉挪亚，祂要用洪水毁灭这地。挪亚听见这话，他除了照神所吩咐的，建造了一只方舟之外，他还作了一件重要的事，就是向周围的人传福音。我们怎么知道这事呢？因为彼得后书清楚地告诉我们，挪亚一家八口是“传扬义”的人。传扬义就是反对当时邪恶的世代。
挪亚为什么传扬义？因为挪亚的世代是邪恶的，地上充满了强暴，没有一件事是义的。但挪亚是个传扬义，反对一切不义、邪恶和强暴的人。挪亚花了许多时间建造方舟，他也必定关心周围的人。因此挪亚向周围的人传扬神的义，告诉他们，要转向神，要与神、与人并与自己都是对的，否则神公义的审判就会临到他们。只可惜，当时的世代，除了挪亚的家人之外，竟没有人相信挪亚的传扬，没有人相信洪水会临到他们。
主耶稣说，人子来临的日子要和挪亚的日子一样。人们要吃、喝、嫁、娶，但主要忽然来到，正如挪亚的时候洪水来到一样（太二四38-39）。那么，今天的“方舟”在哪里呢？乃是在教会生活中。我们同过教会生活，就是建造今日的方舟。我们都必须是今日的挪亚，跟随挪亚的脚踪来得恩典，因信与神同行，接受启示，相信神的话，并传扬快快进入方舟的福音，向人见证我们所相信的。好使我们周围那些愿意相信并接受主的人，能与我们一同进入方舟，得蒙保守和拯救。

Noah’s Work of Preaching Righteousness – 2 Pet. 2:5
God told Noah that He would destroy the earth with a flood. When Noah heard this word, besides obeying God’s command to build an ark, he also did another important thing — he preached the gospel to those around him. How do we know this? Because 2 Peter clearly tells us that Noah and his household of eight were “preachers of righteousness.” To preach righteousness means to stand against the evil generation of that time.
Why did Noah preach righteousness? Because his generation was wicked; the earth was filled with violence, and nothing done upon it was righteous. Yet Noah was one who proclaimed righteousness, opposing all unrighteousness, evil and violence. As Noah spent many years building the ark, he surely cared for the people around him. Therefore, Noah preached God’s righteousness to them, telling them to turn to God and to be right with God, with others, and with themselves. Otherwise, God’s righteous judgment would come upon them. Sadly, in that generation, apart from Noah’s own household, no one believed his preaching — no one believed that the flood would come upon them.
The Lord Jesus said that the days of the Son of Man will be like the days of Noah. Man will be eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage, but the Lord will come suddenly, just as the flood came in Noah’s time (Matt. 24:38–39). So, where is the “ark” today? It is in the church life. As we live the church life together, we are building today’s ark. We all have to be the today’s Noahs — following in Noah’s footsteps to receive grace, walking with God by faith, receiving revelation, believing God’s word and preaching the gospel that urges men to quickly enter the ark. We should testify to others about the faith we hold so that those around us who are willing to believe and receive the Lord may enter the ark with us and be preserved and saved.
