在整本圣经中，神向我们启示，祂有一个目的，就是要把祂自己作成人，也把人作成神，使神与人二者完全相同。神是神，然而祂却把祂自己作成人，在人性里，在人的生命中和人一样一式，过人的生活。另一面，人是人，但神却愿意把人作成和祂一样，在生命和性情上与祂同类、同样；只是我们这些人不能有神的身位。这样，祂的属性就变成我们人的美德，祂的荣形就在我们身上显活出来。神与人在宇宙间至终就成了一对配偶。
为着成就这事，神首先创造人，使人外面有祂的形像，里面有灵，可以接触并接受祂。其次，神来成为人，完成了救赎，解决了神人之间一切的问题，并且把神圣的生命释放出来。末了，神又成了赐生命的灵。这赐生命的灵进到我们里面，就是把神生在我们里面。结果，我们就得着重生。现在我们不光是神所造的，有神的形像，而且我们也是神所生的，有神作我们的生命、人位和一切。祂和我们二者就成了一个单位，是神又是人，是人又是神。
在预表上，亚当与夏娃成为一体（创二23-24）。在实际上，基督与教会是一灵。因为那与主联合的，便是与主成为一灵（林前六17）。照寓意说，基督的所有信徒，都是祂身体上的肢体，就是祂的骨，祂的肉。因此，我们无论作什么事，都要记得，我们不再是单独活着，乃是神和我们共同生活。如同人结了婚，就不能单独。照样，现今主是我们的丈夫。我们需要让祂在我们里面天天加多。祂加多，我们就更新、变化，至终我们就完全变成祂了。祂和我们就成为一体，乃是神而人者，人而神者。阿利路亚，这就是神对人最高的目的！
神为亚当创造夏娃，作为亚当的同伴。这件事说出，神在创造人时，就给人一个天生的需要，就是需要同伴。亚当如何需要夏娃作他的帮助，我们每一个人也都需要同伴，彼此互相帮助。在教会这生命的园子中，与属灵的同伴一同追求基督、享受基督，我们就要一同被变化，成为金子、珍珠和宝石，联络合式的建造在一起，成为神在灵里的居所，也成为基督心爱的配偶，那团体的新妇。

The Universal Couple – God and Man – Gen. 2:24
Throughout the entire Bible, God reveals to us His purpose — to make Himself one with man, and to make man one with Him, so that God and man become exactly the same. God is God, yet He made Himself a man — living a human life, in human nature, just like man in every way. On the other hand, man is man, but God desires to make man the same as He is — in life and in nature — though not in His position as God. In this way, God’s attributes become human virtues, and His glorious image is expressed through us. In the universe, God and man ultimately become a couple.
To accomplish this, God first created man with His image outwardly, and with a spirit inwardly to contact and receive Him. Then God became a man, fulfilled redemption, resolved every problem between God and man, and released His divine life. Finally, God became the life-giving Spirit. When this life-giving Spirit enters into us, God is born in us, and we are regenerated. As a result, we are not only created by God in His image, but also born of God — with God as our life, our person and our everything. He and we become one entity — God mingled with man, man mingled with God.
In significance, Adam and Eve became one (Gen. 2:23–24). In reality, Christ and the church are one spirit. For “he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit” (1 Cor. 6:17). According to the type, all believers are members of Christ’s body — His bone and His flesh. Therefore, in everything we do, we must remember that we no longer live alone, but God lives with us. Just as a married person cannot live independently, likewise the Lord is now our Husband. We need to let Him grow in us day by day. As He increases, we are renewed and transformed — until we are fully transformed into Him. He and we become one entity: God in man, and man in God. Hallelujah! This is God’s highest purpose for man!
God created Eve for Adam to be his companion. This shows that when God created man, He gave him a need for companionship. Just as Adam needed Eve as his helper, each one of us needs companions to help and support one another. In the church — the garden of life — when we pursue and enjoy Christ together with spiritual companions, we are transformed together into gold, pearl and precious stones, joined and fitted together into God’s dwelling place in the Spirit, and become Christ’s beloved counterpart — the corporate Bride.
