到底什么样的人，才是传福音的人？要知道，福音不仅是用话语传的；福音主要是藉着人传出去的。我们若是读使徒行传，就能看见头一次教会起来传福音，话语是第二，人本身才是第一。使徒们的声音是第二，使徒们那班人是第一。换句话说，使徒们站在那里时，他们就是福音的出口；并不是等到他们开口讲说了，福音才有出口。他们那班人一站在那里，福音就有了出口。
正因为使徒们是那样一班人，所以他们的话有权柄，有能力。如果他们不是那样一班人，即使他们说的话再多、再重，也不一定有那一天的果效。五旬节那天，福音是那样有果效，表面看是因着他们的话，实际上，他们话的后盾，那个背后的能力，乃是他们那一班人。我们常说“人微言轻”，意思是人一微小，他的话就轻。这也告诉我们，话的轻重，乃在于人的分量。如果我们在宇宙间是一班有分量的人，不仅在神和人面前能站起来，即使在仇敌跟前也能站起来，我们的话语就有权能。若是我们这班人在神面前是轻的，在人面前是有问题的，在撒但跟前是不能站立的，那么我们的话或许能说得很响，说得很多，但在那样的话里定规没有重量，没有权柄。一个人就是他的话语的后盾，所以，我们若真要为主传福音，首先要注意的，就是我们是什么样的人，我们这些人到底在那里。

Evangelists – Matt. 28:17-18
What kind of men are evangelists? We must understand that the gospel is not only preached with words; it is mainly spread through men. If we read the book of Acts, we can see that when the church first began to preach the gospel, words were secondary – people themselves were primary. The voices of the apostles were secondary; the apostles themselves were primary. In other words, when the apostles stood there, they were the outlet of the gospel – not only when they opened their mouths to speak did the gospel have an outlet. When those people stood there, the gospel already had an outlet.
It was precisely because the apostles were such men that their words carried authority and power. If they had not been such men, no matter how much or how weighty their words were, they might not have produced the same effect on that day. On the day of Pentecost, the gospel was so effective – on the surface it seemed to be because of their words, but in reality, the power behind their words was that group of men. We often say, “A small person’s words carry little weight,” meaning that when a person is insignificant, their words are light. This also tells us that the weight of words lies in the weight of the person. If we are a group of men who carry weight in the universe – able to stand not only before God and man, but even before the enemy – then our words have authority. But if we are light before God, questionable before men, and unable to stand before Satan, then even if our words are loud and many, they surely lack weight and authority. A person is the backing of his own words. Therefore, if we truly want to preach the gospel for the Lord, the first thing we must pay attention to is what kind of men we are and where we stand.
