挪亚与神同行，神喜悦他，就将自己的心向挪亚打开，将祂的秘密启示挪亚。神告诉挪亚，地上满了血气之人的强暴，因此神要把他们和地一并毁灭。祂要使洪水泛滥在地上，毁灭天下。凡地上有血有肉，有气息的活物，无一不死。神要挪亚建造一只方舟，他同他的妻子、儿子、儿妇，都要进入方舟，以保全性命。神又向挪亚启示了建造方舟的材料与方法。并要挪亚将凡有血肉的活物、飞鸟、牲畜、和地上的昆虫，都各从其类，每样两个，一公一母，带进方舟，好保全性命。还要积蓄各样的食粮，好作他和他们的食物。挪亚就这样行，凡神所吩咐的，他都照样行了（创六13-22）。
神告诉挪亚要造方舟，挪亚接受了神的启示，他立刻相信神的话，并照着神的话来建造方舟。新约告诉我们，挪亚的日子，人又吃又喝，又嫁又娶（太二四38）。所有的人都被宴乐充满，没有人知道神的心意，更不知毁灭即将来到。但因着挪亚与神同行，神将祂的心意启示给挪亚。挪亚不仅听见这启示，并且他也相信了，且照着神所吩咐的去行。今天这世代比起挪亚的世代，是有过之而无不及。绝大多数的人都盲目的追求属世的娱乐：看电影、逛街、购买名牌衣鞋、交往异性朋友、去不当场所狂欢等。这世代的潮流，将人的心眼弄瞎，使人不认识神的旨意而远离神。我们要作那一班人呢？是盲目的跟随世代潮流，还是像挪亚一样，接受神的启示，相信神的话，积极过教会生活，建造今日的“方舟”？

Noah Believed God’s Word — Heb. 11:7
Noah walked with God, and God was pleased with him. Therefore, God opened His heart to Noah and revealed His secrets to him. God told Noah that the earth was filled with violence through corrupt men, so He would destroy them along with the earth. He would cause a flood to come upon the land and destroy all living creatures under heaven. Everything on the earth that had the breath of life would perish. God instructed Noah to build an ark so that he, his wife, his sons and his sons’ wives might enter it and preserve their lives. God also revealed to Noah the materials and methods for building the ark. Furthermore, He told Noah to bring into the ark two of every living creature — birds, livestock and creeping things — male and female, to keep them alive. Noah was also to store up all kinds of food for himself and for them. Noah did so; he did according to all that God commanded him (Gen. 6:13–22).
When God told Noah to build the ark, Noah received the divine revelation, immediately believed God’s word, and acted upon it by building the ark. The New Testament tells us that in the days of Noah, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage (Matt. 24:38). Everyone was absorbed in feasting and pleasure; no one knew God’s will or realized that destruction was near. But because Noah walked with God, God revealed His heart to him. Noah not only heard the revelation, but also believed it and acted according to God’s command. Today’s generation is even more corrupt than Noah’s time. The vast majority of people blindly pursue worldly entertainments –watching movies, shopping, buying designer clothes and shoes, dating casually and partying in improper places. The trend of this age blinds man’s spiritual eyes, keeping them from knowing God’s purpose and drawing them away from Him. What kind of people will we be? Will we blindly follow the flow of this age, or will we be like Noah –receiving God’s revelation, believing His word, and actively living the church life to build today’s “ark”?
