善恶知识树的内容
知识树的内容是神以外一切的事物。甚至连神所默示的圣经，和神所颁赐的律法，都会在字句上被撒但利用，作了知识树。甚至你今天对基督的经历，也会成为明天的知识树。就是一本圣经，对我们也可能是两棵树。你若倚靠主，运用灵接触神的话，圣经就是生命树；然而，你若运用心思，把圣经当成一本字句的书查考，圣经就成了知识树。主耶稣对犹太人说，“你们查考圣经…然而你们不肯到我这里来得生命。”仅仅查考圣经是到知识树那里，藉着神的话接触主是来到生命树这里。绝不要使圣经成为知识树，总要保守它是生命树；决定的因素就在于你读经时，是否倚靠主。你若不倚靠祂，所得的一切就都是知识树；你若倚靠祂，所得的一切就都是生命树。不要认为创世记二章讲的两棵树是古代的历史，这乃是两个神圣原则活的、及时的、属天的启示。
善恶知识树的性质和结果
因为生命树是生命的树，所以性质和结果都是生命；因为知识、善和恶都属于死，且带进死，所以善恶知识树的性质和结果都是死。一切不是生命的事物就属于死，结果也是死。实际上，善恶知识树是死亡树；但是它不叫死亡树，却叫善恶知识树。死亡不仅在恶的背后，也在知识和善的背后。善恶知识树是个诡秘的称呼，因为撒但总是喜欢隐藏自己。撒但是掌死权的。善恶知识树实际上是死亡树，所以这树指明撒但。
善恶知识树的原则—独立
我们若知道生命树的原则，也就知道知识树的原则，因为它和生命树的原则相反。生命树的原则是倚靠；知识树的原则是独立。凡是我们倚靠主所作的，都是在生命树的原则里。凡是我们不倚靠主所作的，都是在知识树的原则里。每一个人都想要独立。然而，我们绝不可向主独立。属灵的独立就是死亡。

The Content of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil
The content of the tree of knowledge is everything apart from God. Even the Bible, inspired by God, and the law given by God, can be used by Satan through the letter to become part of the tree of knowledge. Even your spiritual experiences of Christ today may become the tree of knowledge tomorrow. The Bible itself can be two trees to us. If you depend on the Lord and use your spirit to touch God’s Word, then the Bible becomes the tree of life. However, if you use your mind and treat the Bible merely as a book of letters to study, then it becomes the tree of knowledge. The Lord Jesus said to the Jews, “You search the Scriptures… you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life.” (John 5:39–40). Merely studying the Bible is going to the tree of knowledge. But touching the Lord through God’s Word is coming to the tree of life. Never let the Bible become the tree of knowledge, always keep it as the tree of life. The deciding factor is whether you depend on the Lord when reading the Bible. If you do not rely on Him, all that you gain is from the tree of knowledge; but if you do rely on Him, what you gain is from the tree of life. Do not think that the two trees in Genesis 2 are just ancient history — they are two divine principles, living, timely and heavenly revelations.
The Nature and Result of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil
Because the tree of life is full of life, its nature and result are all life. Because knowledge, good and evil all belong to death and lead to death, the nature and result of the tree of knowledge of good and evil are death. Everything that is not of life belongs to death, and its result is death. In reality, the tree of knowledge of good and evil is the tree of death — but it is not called the tree of death. Instead, it is called the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Death is not only behind evil; it is also behind knowledge and behind good. “The tree of the knowledge of good and evil” is a deceptive name, because Satan always likes to hide himself. Satan is the one who has the power of death. The tree of knowledge of good and evil is essentially the tree of death, and therefore this tree represents Satan.
The Principle of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil – Independence
If we understand the principle of the tree of life, then we also understand the principle of the tree of knowledge because it is the opposite. The principle of the tree of life is dependence; the principle of the tree of knowledge is independence. Whatever we do in dependence on the Lord is according to the principle of the tree of life. Whatever we do without dependence on the Lord is according to the principle of the tree of knowledge. Every person desires independence. However, we must never be independent from the Lord. Spiritual independence is death.
