将神圣的生命释放出来—基督包罗万有的死，将神圣的生命从祂人性的外壳里释放出来（约十二24）。在成为肉体时，基督穿上了人性，那人性成了一个外壳，包藏着神圣的生命。神圣的生命隐藏、包藏在基督的人性里；所以这人性必须在十字架上裂开。基督的死将神圣的生命从祂人性的外壳里释放出来。祂是那一粒麦子，落到地里死了，为要将祂的生命释放出来。
将释放出来的神圣生命分赐到信徒里面—基督藉着祂的死，将释放出来的神圣生命分赐到信徒里面，使他们成为许多子粒，构成基督的身体（约十二24，罗十二5，林前十17）。这是基督之死积极的一面：将神圣的生命从祂自己这一粒麦子里释放出来，并将这神圣生命分赐到许多子粒里，使身体得以构成，作基督的配偶。
基督包罗万有之死两面的象征
现在我们要来看基督包罗万有之死两面的象征。在约翰十九章三十四节里，这两个象征乃是血和水。
血象征基督救赎的死—血是为着救赎；就这一面意义说，基督的死乃是救赎的死。
水象征基督释放生命并分赐生命的死—其目的是要产生基督的身体。

One the Positive Side – Releasing and Dispensing Life – John 12:24
Releasing the Divine Life
Christ’s all-inclusive death released the divine life from within the shell of His humanity (John 12:24). In His incarnation, Christ put on humanity, and that humanity became a shell enclosing the divine life. The divine life was hidden and enclosed within Christ’s human shell; therefore, that human shell needed to be broken on the cross. Christ’s death released the divine life from within His human shell. He is the grain of wheat that fell into the ground and died in order to release His life.
Dispensing the Released Divine Life into Believers
Through His death, Christ dispensed the released divine life into the believers, making them many grains to constitute the Body of Christ (John 12:24; Rom. 12:5; 1 Cor. 10:17). This is the positive aspect of Christ’s death: to release the divine life from within Himself as the one grain of wheat and to dispense this divine life into many grains, so that the Body may be built up as Christ’s counterpart.
The Twofold Significances of Christ’s All-Inclusive Death
Now let us consider the twofold significances of Christ’s all-inclusive death, as seen in John 19:34: blood and water.
Blood typifies Christ’s redeeming death — Blood is for redemption. In this sense, typifies Christ’s death is a redemptive death.
Water typifies Christ’s life-releasing and life-dispensing death — Its purpose is to produce the Body of Christ.
We need to enter into all the key points of this message in order to understand the all-inclusive death of Christ. All the negative things in the entire universe have been cleared away by Christ’s death. Today, if we are to live the Christian life, we must live it through the death of Christ — “No death, no life.”
