传福音的窍
人整个的心对于救恩乃是黑暗的。人的心完全是刚硬的，并且完全是诡诈的，又是属鬼魔、属肉体、属世界的，根本不可能来信主。我们福音的对象在圣灵没有作工时，是绝无信主的可能的。所以我们传福音，必须靠着圣灵，使用神所说的话，来进入罪人的心里，而在他里面产生一个东西；这一个东西乃是罪人原先所没有的。传福音的目的，乃是在人的心里，先得到一个据点，然后从这里一再扩充出去。这便是传福音的窍。堕落的人的心里头，乃是完全不要神的，所充满的完全是罪恶。
所以我们要使罪人得着救恩，总得先用福音的话，在人心里头造出一个地位是为着神的，这样人才能接受福音。当我们的话语出去，是摆在人的思想里；思想是接受福音的门路。然后神要一方面得着他的羡慕，一方面得着他的决定。所以光是人的思想被得着了还不彀。乃是神的话一进到罪人里面去，神便给他一个新的思想，一有新的思想，便能给他产生一个新的羡慕，他就愿意得救。于是他就定规要得救了。他一定规要得救，福音就成功了。
所以传福音的目的，是注重在让人有羡慕。在传福音的过程中，要达到三个目的：第一，最初的目的要人有一点救恩的思想，明白神，明白救恩；第二，传福音最大的目的，就是叫人要神，羡慕神，喜欢得救；第三，最终的目的，是叫人定规要神，要得着神。所以福音不是从人的悟性里进去的，乃是从人的羡慕进去的。羡慕是传福音主要的目标。我们传福音时，首先是要用神的话垫在人的思想里，最末了一步则是要人决定接受。首先我们乃是把神的话，就是牢靠的话，塞在人的思想里。然后第二句话必须是根据于第一句话来撬他，让他产生羡慕，最后再让他决定。所以头一句传福音的话是直勾，第二句传福音的话是弯勾。头一句话是作思想的垫子，后一句话是作撬情感的工具。结果就叫他的意志决定得救。

The Secret of Evangelism
The entire heart of man is in darkness concerning salvation. It is utterly hardened, fully deceitful, and belongs to the devil, the flesh and the world. It is fundamentally impossible for it to believe in the Lord. The men we preach the gospel to have absolutely no possibility of believing unless the Holy Spirit works. Therefore, in preaching the gospel, we have to rely on the Holy Spirit and use the words God has spoken to enter into the sinner’s heart and produce something within — something that the sinner originally did not have. The purpose of preaching the gospel is to first gain a foothold in a man’s heart and then expand outward from that point. This is the secret of evangelism. The fallen heart of man does not want God and is filled entirely with sin.
So in order for a sinner to receive salvation, we must first use the words of the gospel to create a space in the heart that is for God — only then can a person receive the gospel. When our words go out, they are first placed in a person’s thoughts; the mind is the entryway for receiving the gospel. Then God must also gain the person’s desire and decision. So it’s not enough for a person’s mind to be reached — the word of God must enter into the sinner’s being, and God then gives him a new thought. With a new thought comes a new desire, and then he becomes willing to be saved. Once he is resolved to be saved, the gospel has succeeded.
Thus, the focus of evangelism is to stir up a longing in the heart. The process of evangelism aims to achieve three goals: First, the initial goal is for the person to have some thought of salvation — to understand God and understand salvation. Second, the main goal of evangelism is to cause a person to want God, to desire God and to love salvation. Third, the ultimate goal is to lead the person to make a firm decision for God — to want to receive Him. Therefore, the gospel does not enter through the intellect but through the desire. Desire is the central target of gospel preaching. When preaching the gospel, we must first lay down God’s word in a person’s mind. In the final step, we must lead the person to make a decision. Our first gospel word is like a straight hook, and the second word is like a curved hook. The first word serves as a foundation in the mind; the second word is the tool to pry open the emotion. As a result, the will makes the decision to be saved.
