一个有知觉的人受神对付，以得救恩
人的心，乃是比万物都诡诈，坏到极处，没有人能够识透的（耶十七9）。人的心是充满了黑暗，是任何人都看不见的。没有得救的人是完全刚硬的，因为他的心是黑暗的。堕落的人，他的灵是死的，他的身体在得救的事上又毫无关系，而他的魂又没有意思要神，因为他终日所有的思想，都是罪恶的事（创六5，太十五19）。
一个心思黑暗的人，一个感觉麻木的人，就没有意思要挑选神，对救恩也没有任何羡慕。这样他怎能接受救恩呢？人的灵不是明白的机关，且是死的；人的身体在接受救恩上又没有用；而人的心思是黑暗的，情感是不羡慕的，意志也不能决定。那怎么办？你给他好的音乐、好的空气，那是身体的事，与接受救恩无关。人的身体不能叫人得救，因为主不在那里作工，那里乃是属罪的（罗七14）。人堕落属肉体之后，神就不与肉体相争了（创六3，原文）。
你如果把属灵的事告诉堕落的人，他又不能领受，因为他的灵根本是死的。灵没有活过来，就不能领会神国的事。因此，生理上的人、属灵上的人，既然都没有办法得着救恩，所以神只有对付他这个有知觉的人，就是对付他的思想、情感、意志，好叫他得着救恩。一个人的思想、情感、意志合起来，就成功为一个有知觉的人。那么一个有知觉的人到底对于神如何？对于救恩又如何呢？

Stirring Man’s Heart to Desire (2) – Jer. 17:9
A Person with Sensibility Is Dealt with by God to Receive Salvation
The heart of man is deceitful above all things and incurably wicked; who can understand it? (Jer. 17:9). Man’s heart is full of darkness, unseen by anyone. The heart of an unsaved person is utterly hardened because it is in darkness. In fallen man, the spirit is dead, the body has no part in salvation, and the soul has no inclination toward God, for all the thoughts of his heart are only evil continually (Gen. 6:5; Matt. 15:19).
A person with a darkened mind and a numb heart has no inclination to choose God and no desire for salvation. How then can he receive salvation? Man’s spirit is not a faculty of understanding — it is dead. The body plays no role in receiving salvation. The mind is dark, the emotions are void of desire, and the will is unable to decide. So what can be done? Giving him good music or clean air only affects the body, which is unrelated to salvation. The body cannot save a person because the Lord does not work there — it belongs to sin (Rom. 7:14). After man fell and became fleshly, God no longer strove with the flesh (Gen. 6:3, original text).
If you speak spiritual things to a fallen man, he cannot receive them, for his spirit is completely dead. Unless the spirit is made alive, he cannot comprehend the things of God’s kingdom. Therefore, since neither the physical nor the spiritual faculties can receive salvation, God must work on the part of man that still retains awareness — his thoughts, emotions, and will — so that he may be saved. When the mind, emotion, and will operate together, they form a person with sensibility. So, how then does such a sensate person relate to God? And how does he respond to salvation?
