人得救乃是心出来碰着主
我们已经说过，一个罪人在接受救恩时，到底有什么事情发生在他身上；一个人能得救，乃是因为他的心出来，碰着主一下。人得救不是因为他有救恩的知识，不是因为他明白福音的道，乃是因为他有一个完全的心碰着主一下，这样他就能得救。我们学习传福音的人，要研究当人得救时，神到底是怎样作工的。我们越知道人得救时的主观经历，就越容易带领人相信主。
人心乃人的总汇之所
我们说人的心出来，摸着主，这样人就得救，但到底什么叫作心呢？心在圣经中是很特别的一个字。人物质的身体有心（生理的心），人的魂有心（心理的心），人的灵也有心（良心的心）。所以心就是整个人集中的地方。人的思想是从心里出来的（创六5，太十五19）。人的心志（意志的功用）是从心里出来的（徒十一23）。人的喜乐（感情的作用）也是从心里出来的（约十六22）。希伯来十章二十二节说，良心是在心里。以弗所三章说，基督因着我们的信，住在我们心里（弗三17）。人的话也是从心里发出来的（太十二34下）。
人的身体是以心为中心，而人的魂和灵，也都以心为汇集之处，所以心可以说是人的总汇之所，是人生命的汇集之处。心可以说就是代表我们真的自己。我们所有生命里的东西，都是从心里发出来的。所以箴言四章说，我们要保守自己的心，胜过保守一切，因为一生的果效，是由心发出（箴四23）。心就是我们真的人。我们的灵、魂、体，全集中在一起的所在，就是我们的心。

Salvation Comes When the Heart Reaches Out and Touches the Lord
We have already mentioned what takes place in a person when a sinner receives salvation. A person is saved because his heart comes forth and touches the Lord. Salvation does not come through knowledge of salvation, nor through understanding the doctrine of the gospel. Rather, a person is saved because his whole heart genuinely reaches out and touches the Lord. This is how salvation happens. We who are learning to preach the gospel must study what exactly God does when man is saved. The more we understand the subjective experience of salvation, the more easily we can lead people to believe in the Lord.
The Heart Is the Totality of a Man
A person’s heart comes forth and touches the Lord, and thus he is saved. But what, after all, is the heart? The term “heart” in the Bible is a very particular word. Man’s physical body has a heart (the physiological heart), man’s soul has a heart (the psychological heart), and man’s spirit also has a heart (the conscience-related heart). Therefore, the heart is the place where the entire person is gathered. Man’s thoughts proceed from the heart (Gen. 6:5; Matt. 15:19). Man’s will (the function of decision) comes from the heart (Acts 11:23). Man’s joy (the operation of the emotions) also arises from the heart (John 16:22). Hebrews 10:22 says that the conscience is in the heart. Ephesians chapter 3 says that Christ dwells in our hearts through faith (Eph. 3:17). Man’s words also come forth from the heart (Matt. 12:34b).
The body takes the heart as its center, and both the soul and the spirit take the heart as their convergence point. Thus, we may say the heart is the totality of a person — a location where life converges. The heart represents our true self. Everything within our life issues from the heart. Therefore, Proverbs chapter 4 tells us to watch our heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life (Prov. 4:23). The heart is our true person. The place where our spirit, soul and body are all concentrated — that is our heart.
