传福音最怕的是只讲道理，却不能叫人觉得需要。因为理由不能让人落泪，道理不能扎人的心，哲学不能让人把火点起来，热闹不能让人得救。惟有叫人有需要的感觉，才容易叫人接受福音。因此道讲得好不好没有关系，只要能救人就好。想要把道讲得好，乃是传福音者的一个大试探。医生不是要学开好的药方，乃是要能治人的病。传好道如果只是叫自己面子好看，却一点不能救人的灵魂，这乃是最大的错误。
现在我们先来看几个使人产生需要之感觉的路。
一、关于得安息
马太十一章二十八节是传福音的人常用的一节，这节圣经在中国、在外国都救了好多人。我们要用这节圣经问人：你的担子重不重？你劳苦不劳苦？你羡慕安息么？我们要让人感觉人生的重担，给人看见，人生充满了许多的担子。现今人整天为地上的事忧愁，充满了重担。人生的确是没有安息。没钱的人挂虑，有钱的人更是挂虑。没钱的人感觉缺乏的痛苦，有钱的人又怕钱被人拿了去。东西少，挂虑多；但东西多了，挂虑更多。人的确是痛苦的。但是主说，只要你肯来，祂就赐给你安息。
你讲过这节圣经后，就可以接着向他们作见证说，‘我自从信主之后，重担就卸去，我已经得安息了。’不只你自己作见证，你也可以请七个、八个人一同作见证。这样就能让人感觉需要。有一大部分的人是需要这种感觉的。（但不是个个人都需要。）这节圣经所救的人，不少于约翰三章十六节。这是传福音一条很好的路。

How to Create a Sense of Need (1) – Matt. 11:28
Salvation Does Not Require a Large Amount of Truth, Only a Sincere Turning to God From the New Testament, we see that many men were saved without clearly understanding the full truth of the gospel. Many who preach the gospel have been influenced by traditional thinking, believing that they must explain the gospel thoroughly and resolve every difficulty before man can be saved. As a result, many serving ones are reluctant to expect someone to be saved immediately, always wanting men to understand a large amount of doctrine first. This leads to delays in men receiving salvation. On the other hand, because preachers have this attitude, sinners themselves also delay making a decision. They think they have to first understand the gospel more clearly or know more of the Bible before they can be saved – and thus postpone their salvation.
In gospel preaching, the greatest danger is merely presenting reasoning without making man feel their need. Arguments don’t bring tears; reasoning doesn’t pierce the heart; philosophy doesn’t ignite a fire in someone; excitement doesn’t bring salvation. Only by making men feel their need can they more easily receive the gospel. Thus, it doesn’t matter whether the message is well-crafted; what matters is whether it can save people. Wanting to preach a polished sermon is a great temptation for gospel preachers. A doctor’s goal is not just to prescribe a perfect prescription, but to heal a patient’s illness. If delivering a fine message only preserves one’s pride and fails to save souls, that is a serious error
Now let’s look at a few ways to create a sense of need
1. Concerning Rest
Matthew 11:28 is a verse commonly used by those who preach the gospel. This verse has saved many people, both in China and abroad. We should use this verse to ask men: “Is your burden heavy? Are you weary? Do you long for rest?” We must help men feel the heavy burdens of life and let them see that life is filled with many weights. Today, men worry all day about earthly things – they are burdened. Truly, there is no rest in life. The poor worry, and the rich worry even more. The poor feel the pain of lack, while the rich fear having their wealth taken away. The fewer possessions one has, the more one worries; but when one has many possessions, the worries are even greater. Indeed, men suffer. But the Lord says that if you are willing to come, He will give you rest.
After reading this verse, you can share your testimony: “Since I believed in the Lord, my burden has been lifted – I have found rest.” Not only can you testify yourself, but you can also invite seven or eight others to testify together. In this way, men will feel their need. A large number of men require this kind of sense (though not everyone does). The number of men saved through this verse is no fewer than those saved through John 3:16. This is a very good way to preach the gospel.
