一、上面的呼声─主临别唯一的吩咐说出天上的呼声
在宇宙中，有四面的呼声，呼召信徒去传福音、拯救人。第一是上面的，就是主在天上的呼声。这是主临升天的吩咐所说出的。这吩咐虽然是主在地上的时候所留给我们的，但祂今天在天上还是这样吩咐我们。按地理说，祂要我们往普天下去传福音；按人种说，祂要我们去使万民作祂的门徒。从祂升到天上，一直到今天，祂这个在上面的呼声，从未停止。历代不断地有人听见祂这呼声，而答应祂的呼召，往天下各处，传扬祂的福音。并且祂也用祂主宰的权能，使地上人类中的变迁发展，适合于祂这呼声所产生出来的行动。尤其自路德改教以后，哥伦布发现新大陆，海上航行东西贯通，就有成群的人答应祂这呼声，去到美洲、非洲，也来到亚洲各国，和太平洋上的许多岛屿，向各种民族传扬了祂恩惠的福音。祂仍要继续的发出祂这呼声，召人去将祂的福音，传遍地面上居人的每一角落。但愿我们中间有人听见祂这呼声，且答应祂的呼召，去使那些从未认识祂的人作祂的门徒。
经文：财主说，我祖啊，既是这样，求你打发拉撒路到我父家去；因为我还有五个弟兄；他可以对他们作见证，免得他们也来到这痛苦的地方。（路十六27-28）
二、下面的呼声─灭亡财主的哀求说出地下阴间的呼声
这是那个灭亡的财主，在阴间火焰里受痛苦的时候，向亚伯拉罕所发出的哀求。他这哀求给我们知道，今天在阴间里必有多人渴望他们还活在世上的亲人，得以听见福音，而得蒙拯救，免去沉沦的痛苦。他们在下面的阴间里，也为他们活着的亲人对福音的需要，发出哀声。这是关于福音需要第二方面的呼声。我们岂不也该同情这个悲痛的呼声，去向那些活着还有机会悔改的世人，传扬那能救他们免去永远沉沦的福音么？

Gospel Preaching – The Fourfold Calling (1)
1. The Calling from Above – The Lord’s Final Command Expressing the Voice from Heaven (Mark 16:15)
In the universe, there are four callings urging believers to preach the gospel and save souls. The first is the calling from above, which is the voice from heaven. This is the Lord’s command given before His ascension. Although this command was given while the Lord was on earth, He continues to give us this same command from heaven today. Geographically, He commands us to go into all the world to preach the gospel; ethnically, He commands us to make disciples of all nations. From the time of His ascension to heaven until now, this calling from above has never ceased. Throughout the ages, people have heard this call and responded to His callings, going to various parts of the world to proclaim His gospel. Moreover, through God’s sovereign power, He has caused changes and developments among the people of the earth to facilitate actions resulting from this calling. Especially since the Reformation by Martin Luther, with Columbus discovering the New World and maritime routes connecting the East and West, many people have responded to this call, going to America, Africa, Asia and many islands in the Pacific to proclaim the gospel of His grace to various nations. He continues to issue this call, commanding people to spread His gospel to every inhabited corner of the earth. May there be some among us who hear this call and respond to His calling by discipling those who have never known Him.
2. The Calling from Below – The Rich Man’s Plea Expressing the Cry from Hades (Luke 16:27-28)
This is the plea from the perishing rich man who was suffering in the flames of Hades, crying out to Abraham. His plea revealed that there are undoubtedly many in Hades today who long for their living family members on earth to hear the gospel and be saved, escaping the torment of eternal perdition. In Hades, they also express a painful cry for the gospel to reach their living relatives. This is the second aspect of the call regarding the need for the gospel. Should we not also sympathize with this sorrowful cry and preach the gospel that can save those who are still alive and have the opportunity to repent, so they may escape eternal damnation?
