人作神的器皿，盛装神自己
感谢神，当我们回到这一本圣经时，我们便简单而直接的，得着了人生的答案。圣经告诉我们，人乃是为着神而创造的。人生的目的不是别的，乃是要作神的器皿，盛装祂以彰显祂。所以，人乃是为着荣耀神而有的，为使神能心满意足。已过我们的人生所以感觉虚空，乃是因为我们失去了人生的用途；这一个用途就是作神的器皿，荣耀神。我们若是失去了这个用途，就等于一样东西失去了它原来该有的功能和用处。
譬如我们天花板上悬挂着许多电灯，是专专为着发挥电的功能，让电透过电灯发光，也就是让电得着荣耀。所以，电灯的用途是作为电的器皿，把电盛装到里面，充满到里面，然后借着它发挥、发表出来。人就好比神的电灯，是为着彰显神，发挥神而有的。谁让神通到他里面，谁的里面就有满足，就有喜乐，就有平安。谁让神从他发挥神的自己，谁就感觉人生满有意义。除此以外，没有一个人能安息，没有一个人能满足；因为在人里面，没有神同在，人失去了他对神的用处。请看人生种种的光景，个人不正确，家庭不完满，社会不和谐，完全归咎于一个原因，就是人里面没有神。因为个人里面没有神，所以个人的生活就不正确；因为家庭里没有神，所以家庭不能美满；因为社会里没有神，所以社会才会紊乱不和谐。人生一切的问题，人群一切的难处，都在于失去神，缺少神，没有神。有了神，人生一切问题都会得着解答，一切难处也都能获得解决。
我们越看自己，就越感觉到，我们里面是空洞、虚浮的。我们越观察别人，也越能感觉到，人里面总是若有所缺，并且无物可以补满。到底我们里面这个空洞，要用什么才能填满？人群里那个缺乏，能有什么可以供应无虞？世界上的社会学家，花了不少工夫，想要解决这个问题，却都徒劳无功。有的人说，用教育可以解决；有的人说，只要提高生活水准，就能解决。然而无论从历史，或从现实面，有许多事实都证明，人里面的这个虚空，人群中的这个缺乏，绝不是教育或是生活水准提高，就能解决得了的。因为教育不过是教育人的头脑，生活水准提高不过使人肉身得着享受；但在人最深处，仍有一个需要，是深过这些的。人里头有一个需要，不仅深过人身体的需要，也深过人头脑的知识。

Man as a Vessel to Contain God — Rom 9:23
When we return to the Bible, we find the answer regarding life in a simple and direct way. The Bible tells us that man was created for God. The purpose of life is nothing else but to be a vessel to contain God and to express Him. Thus, man exists for the glory of God, so that God may be fully satisfied. The emptiness we have experienced in our lives is because we have lost the purpose of our existence. This purpose is to be a vessel for God, to glorify Him. When we lose this purpose, it is like an object losing its original function and use.
For example, the electric light bulbs hanging from the ceiling are specifically designed to transmit the function of electricity, allowing electricity to light through them and thereby glorify it. The purpose of the light bulbs is to serve as a vessel for electricity, to contain and fill it within, and then to express it outwardly. Similarly, man is like God’s lamp, created to express and manifest God. Whoever allows God to enter into them will find satisfaction, joy and peace within. Whoever expresses God from within will feel that their life is full of meaning. Apart from this, no one can find rest, and no one can be satisfied. This is because without God’s presence within, man loses his function as a vessel for God. Look at the various conditions of life: individuals are often not upright, families are unhappy, and society is disharmonious. All of this stems from one reason – man lacks God within. Because individuals lack God, their lives are not upright. Because families lack God, they cannot be happy. Because society lacks God, there is disorder and disharmony. Every problem in life, every difficulty among people, stems from the loss of God, the absence of God, and the lack of God. With God, all of life’s problems are answered, and every difficulty can be resolved.
The more we examine ourselves, the more we sense that we are hollow and empty within. The more we observe others, the more we notice that there is always something missing inside of man, something that nothing can fulfill. What can fulfill this emptiness within us? What can supply what is lacking in human life? Sociologists have spent considerable effort trying to solve this problem, yet all their attempts have been in vain. Some say education can solve it; others believe raising the living standard will be the solution. However, both history and reality have shown us countless times that the emptiness within man and the lack among humanity cannot be resolved by education or improved living standards. Education only affects the mind, and improving living standards merely satisfies the physical body. Yet, in the innermost part of man, there remains a need that goes deeper than these. The need within man surpasses the needs of the physical body and transcends the knowledge of the mind.
