神要在宇宙中得着一个住处，是神与人的调和，在其中神被建造到人里面，人被建造到神里面，使神与人，人与神，能成为相互的住处（约十四2，20，23，十五4，约壹四13）。神需要一班人可以让祂进入。这个进入不仅是祂起初进到我们灵里，更是让祂进入我们这人的每一部分。
为此，我们需要作两件事。第一，一天过一天，我们需要将自己献给主，作一个向祂敞开的器皿。我们敞开，不是要得着知识，或叫我们能作什么。我们只简单的向祂敞开，让祂作祂所要作的。第二，有一本小册“建造教会的路”，论到以弗所三章的祷告，说，主建造教会的路，乃是我们得加强到里面的人里，使基督安家在我们心里，将祂自己建造到我们里面。
灵里贫穷痛悔
以赛亚书六十六章一至二节说，“……你们要在那里为我建造殿宇？那里是我安息的地方？耶和华说，这一切都是我手所造的，所以就都有了；但我所看顾的，就是灵里贫穷痛悔、因我话战兢的人。”痛悔就是有一个深深的悔改，觉得忧伤、伤痛。一个人的灵就是他的真。主是看人的灵，衡量人的灵。祂只与一种人同居，就是灵里痛悔卑微的人，这样的人也有痛悔的心。
我们可能读过“人的破碎与灵的出来”，以为或盼望自己能有那样的经历，成为属灵的人。但从神的角度而言，祂要来摸我们，使我们破碎，使我们失败，甚至一生都无法明白为何发生那样的事。然后，我们有忧伤的灵，有忧伤痛悔的心，来为着神的建造。神自己要进来与我们同住，祂也许说，“我在这样的灵里觉得舒适。我无法与那些高超、骄傲、完整的人同住。”

God Longs for a Dwelling Place – Isa. 66:1-2
God wants to have a dwelling place in the universe, which is a mingling of God and man, in which God is built into man, and man is built into God, so that God and man, and man and God, can become a mutual abode (John 14:2, 20, 23, 15:4, 1 John 4:13). God needs a group of people who can let Him enter in. This entry is not only He initially enters into our spirit (when we are saved), but also allows Him to enter into every part of our being.
Therefore, we need to do two things: first, day by day, we need to consecrate ourselves to the Lord and be a vessel open to Him. Our opening is not to gain knowledge or to enable us to do anything. We simply open ourselves to Him and let Him do what He wants to do. Second, there is a small booklet “The Way to Build the Church”, which talks about the prayer in Ephesians chapter 3 and says that the way the Lord builds up the church is for us to be strengthened into our inner man so that Christ can make His home in our hearts, building Himself into us.
Poor and Contrite in Spirit
Isaiah 66:1-2 says, “…where then is the house that you will build for me? / And where is the place of My rest?/ For all these things my hand has made/ And so all these things have come into being, declares Jehovah/ But to this kind of man will I look, to him who is poor/ And of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My word.” Contrition means having a deep repentance, feeling sorrow and sadness. A man’s spirit is his reality. The Lord looks at the man’s spirit and weighs his spirit. He only dwells with one kind of man, those who are contrite and lowly in spirit, such man also has a contrite heart.
We may have read the book “The Breaking of Man and the Coming Out of the Spirit”. We thought or hoped that we could have such an experience and become a spiritual man. But from God’s perspective, He wants to touch us, break us, make us fail, and we may not even be able to understand in our lifetime why certain things happened. Then, we may have a broken spirit, and a broken and contrite heart for God’s building. God Himself wants to come in and live with us, and He may say, “I feel comfortable in such a spirit. I cannot live with those who are arrogant, proud and complete (unbroken)”.
